Chautauqua Park Morning Engagement Session Photography // Christa & Max

It’s always fun meeting couples who live in places that are special to you. When Max and Christa reached out to me several months ago about a sunrise engagement shoot at Chautauqua in Boulder I was thrilled to learn they would be visiting here from Minnesota. This former Minnesotan was happy to meet and chat with a few fellow “northerners”. I was pleased to meet them and wish them a wonderful marriage next year up in the home state!

Such a beautiful Friday evening in Boulder with Connor and Amanda, and of course their incredibly fun dog Joplin! Engagement photography sessions are always such a great way to get to know clients better and to allow all of us to get more comfortable with each other. Kind of like a rehearsal for the wedding day. These two are getting married in November this year, and I’m super excited to also capture that special day for them.

When you are from warm and tropical Columbia and Spain, it only makes sense to have your engagement photos done on one of Colorado’s coldest and most winter wonderland-looking days! Natalia and Angel were so fun and eager to enjoy their experience, and we certainly made the most of it. You can’t tell from looking at these photos, but it was negative 10 degrees out during this session – Brr! That is by far the coldest temp I’ve ever shot in with clients. But wow, the mountains and Flatirons looked so gorgeous on this cold morning in February.
