September in Colorado is wonderful for its changing seasons and seemingly unpredictable weather. This evening we had to wait out a furious rain gust as we sat in our cars at the trailhead of Flatiron Mesa, just south of Boulder. Chad and Monica were ready to jump out in the rain with me if it came to that, but fortunately (or unfortunately, who knows?), the sky opened up and gave us a nice 20 minutes of glorious light before sunset. These type of adventures, and this gorgeous rainbow, are a big reason why I love Colorado.
